A number of our employees took part in the Three Peaks Challenge in September 2022, raising £7,500 for The Sussex Snowdrop Trust. They trained hard and there were some tough moments but they pulled together and showed their strength by completing climbs on Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon.

Completion of a 7 hectare porous car park and associated S278 Highway works was opened in time for the 2018 holiday rush. The concrete roads, porous tarmac and porous gravel areas were constructed over an existing landfill site.
Landbuild have successfully completed the Highway and Cycleway works for the opening of the new Chichester Free School on the B2145 in Hunston. The works included new footways, bus laybys and shelters, a Toucan pedestrian crossing, street lighting, drainage, services and a new road surface throughout the whole section of road. Works also included a new cycleway, linking the school with routes to the north from the A27. By utilising a compressed programme and extended working hours, all works were accomplished before the critical opening date in early September, including elements that were scheduled to be carried out at a later date. Further landscaping works will be managed by Landbuild through the coming planting season.
Construction of a new in-situ concrete culvert to increase capacity under Wineham Lane to cure a flooding problem where the river backs up and floods the surrounding area; construction also of a Tensar Green slope, a reinforced earth embankment design to retain the new carriageway 2m over the flood plain.
Landbuild have successfully completed a Traffic Signal refurbishment scheme in Crawley, through the Three Bridges corridor. This encompassed 7 signalised junctions, including the provision of new pedestrian facilities for safer routes to key locations such as the Three Bridges Railway Station. This work was completed over a period of 5 months.
Work is now complete on the traffic calming scheme for West Sussex Highways and Balfour Beatty in Broadbridge Heath. The works included greater pedestrian spaces, high friction surfacing, provision for cyclists and a new mini roundabout. The purpose of the scheme is to reduce traffic speeds through the residential area and forms part of a wider redevelopment plan within the surrounding area.
Landbuild is committed to achieving exemplary standards for the health, safety and welfare of all who are affected or involved in our works. In April we have taken delivery of two brand new Wacker Neuson 9T Dumpers with full impact ROPS which will reduce the risks associated with mounting and dismounting of large dumpers.
Forming part of the new Sovereign Harbour Cycle Network, this complex 1.8 km cycle path was constructed mainly through farm fields located on a floodplain, requiring the installation of temporary track matting for access to the works. The scheme also included the installation of two new glass reinforced plastic bridges, with a combined span of 20m and a total tarmac area in excess of 4000 sq.m, as well as a new dual carriageway signal controlled crossing.
